About the Author

Ada Keeley Bonn is a writer and storyteller from the North Island of New Zealand. Through her fictional writing she examines the psychology of human relationships and the susceptibility of those relationships to hidden or unconscious influences (namely repressed traumas, complexes and secrets). She also explores the mercurial way in which human behaviour can be interpreted, reinterpreted or misinterpreted through subtle adjustments in perspective and framing; and she enjoys alternating between different character perspectives throughout each of her short stories.

Having been particularly influenced by the fey artwork of Brian Froud, and by the traditional folktales of Dr Clarissa Pinkola Estés, Ada is a proponent of the idea that fairy-tales and folktales are powerful tools for healing, and that they contain potent medicine for both the soul and the psyche. It is therefore in the vein of ‘story as medicine’ that she presents the Dreamhouse Row podcast, and she hopes that her listeners will enjoy the various elements of Jungian psychoanalysis, Western astrology and traditional fey folklore that she has weaved into each of her episodic narratives.

Before she transitioned into creative media, Ada spent a decade working within the corporate sector as an executive assistant and an events administrator. She worked for a number of government organisations in Wellington (including the New Zealand Treasury and the Department of the Prime Minister & Cabinet); and she also lived in England for many years, working at both a publishing house in Bloomsbury and a prestigious private members’ company in the ‘square mile’ City of London.

She currently lives and works in the Thames-Coromandel region of New Zealand.
